Local motorcycle club folks – and those not so local who enjoy the ride to Hollister – have demonstrated that it doesn’t matter whether or not the City of Hollister has an officially sanctioned rally, or not. They show up, either way. The riders, the ride itself and all of the gears and gear to take in make attending the Hollister motorcycle rally a no-brainer for a lot of bikers.
With dedicated sponsors like Corbin Saddles, Russ Brown Attorney, Hollister Powersports and 47 Camp Ride, the Hollister rally materializes in one form or another every year. The mystique of Johnny’s Bar and Grill, made famous in large part due to the 1953 movie, “The Wild One,” is an annual favorite for bikers coming into Hollister.
The next rally, Friday, July 2, 2021 through Sunday, July 4, 2021, is expected to have its focal point at the Veterans Memorial Hall in downtown Hollister. The hall offers a heartfelt tribute to all veterans that have served, past and present. At the hall and its courtyard: Hollister Rally Merchandise, Patch Stop (Official patches for Hollister Rally), Welcome Center, Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys, great food, local charities, and more to be announced.
While the rally has held many different names over the years:
- Hollister Independence Rally
- Hollister Rebel Rally
- Gypsy Tour or Gypsy Tour Rally or Gypsy Tour Motorcycle Classic
- Hollister Freedom Rally
- Hollister Rally
- Hollister Biker Rally
doing a Google search of “hollister motorcyle rally” will give you an abundance of information.
Continuing its reputation for being the birthplace of the American biker, hope is held out in Hollister that the city or the promoter, Roadshows, Inc., will get serious about making the Hollister motorcycle rally a stable one, a safe one and a profitable one.
